If you are working with an agency or attorney, they may present you with profiles of families hoping to adopt from among their clients, with whom they think you will fit, depending on the openness you want, and based on information you have given them. It is our strong recommendation that you do not use chat rooms, adoption forums, or other public online meeting places to try to locate a couple interested in adopting since they may not be who they say they are.

Reputable profile sites like ParentProfiles.com make sure that couples have a completed homestudy, and are working with a recognized adoption professional.
