At what age can I look for my birthfamily?

You can search at any age; however, the release of information about your adoption by states, agencies, and attorneys is subject to state law, which does set a minimum age. In addition, reunion registries generally require that the adoptee is 18 or older in order to have their information listed. For details on state age requirements for the release of information, see State Laws on Access to Adoption Information.
